As Tom Vilsack enters his 2nd stint as U.S. Secretary of Ag today, the nation’s top crop experts like MSU’s Raja Reddy, along with MSU President & former USDA Undersecretary Mark E. Keenum, anticipate Vilsack’s continued support of the university’s federally funded ag research.

President Joe Biden, then a U.S. Senator from Delaware, spoke in 1985 at a birthday celebration at the Kemper County Courthouse in DeKalb, Mississippi, honoring his colleague U.S. Sen. John C. Stennis – a Mississippi State University alumnus.

As the U.S. ushers in the Biden administration today, MSU President Mark E. Keenum welcomes the opportunity to again work with Tom Vilsack as the incoming Secretary of Agriculture. Vilsack visited MSU in 2013 when he served in this same role & toured USDA research projects.
